It's kind of shameful to refer yourself as a gamer and yet having played so few games ^^' Anyways, I've been able to indulge myself with games as of later. Games that do require time investment so you don't count, Angry Birds.
First thing I did as soon as I got the PS2 emulator working, was to play Tales of the Abyss. I really missed playing RPGs ♥ Now, this was an interesting situation because you usually don't play games while knowing what's going to happen xD In my case, this happened because of having watching the anime myself, and because of having been heavily spoiled years ago. The game hasn't changed the impressions I already had about the characters, but it's been great for picking up backstory details that I had been missing plot-wise. Not to mention that playing the game has turned me into a serious Luke/Tear shipper xDDDD
The gameplay is really nice, very much in the same style as other Tales games, but there are some Abyss-specific things that I STILL can't quite understand and/or control, such as FOFs or Fon Slots. On the other hand, I'm able to perform Hi-Ougis already *-* Also, the story's amazing. The only infuriating thing about this game is the amount of travels you have to do here and there =_= Not even having the Albiore makes this much faster. Anyways, I'm already in the Peace Conference...meaning that I still have a looooong way to go |D;
As everybody and their mothers, I also got LOZ: Skyward Sword |D I'd like to refer to myself as a Zelda fan, but the small amount of Zelda games betray me )': (now then, same can be said about Tales, which is why I can't be a part of that fandom D| But that's another story)
I had heard nothing but good things about Skyward, and truth is, it has been a pleasant surprise! Now I really don't have the means to compare, but the short time I played Twilight Princess, as graphically beautiful as it is, it just wasn't as engaging as Skyward is ^^' Not at the beginning, at least.
Anyways! I'm currently heading to my third Spirit Trial (I hate those things, really) and I'm confident that I'll be able to actually beat the game. Something that's rare on me x'D Again, the story is nice and the gameplay is really fun! It has lots of innovations compared to Ocarina and Majora (again, I can't compare to Wind Waker or Twilight). I really can't tell yet if Skyward is truly the new Ocarina, as some people have been calling it, but damn; it really tried! Also, it's been great to see Zelda and Link knowing each other since before the beginning of the game, and with such a close bond :'D Very shipping-worthy, I must say.
I predict these two games will keep me busy for a while xD;
